Overview

SEME Constant Force Springs are precision-engineered solderless connections designed for use in earthing, grounding, and cable management applications. They provide a uniform radial pressure on cables, ensuring reliable connection of cable screens, armour wires, or copper braids in medium voltage terminations and other industrial cable systems.

Made from high-quality stainless steel (Type 301/302), our springs are compatible with all metallic cable screens and armour types. They are suitable for use with heat shrink, cold shrink, and resin-based cable joints and repair kits.

These springs are RoHS 2011/65/EU compliant and have a 10-year shelf life under proper storage conditions (-50ºC to +50ºC, <75% relative humidity).

Application Note (Installation Example)

1. Position the copper braid or cable screen onto the cable sheath.

2. Secure with one turn of the SEME constant force spring.

3. Bend the braid back over the first turn and secure with the remainder of the spring.

4. Optional: apply one half-lap layer of PVC or insulating tape over the spring for added protection.

This ensures uniform contact, mechanical stability, and reliable grounding.
